Vallon des Chantoirs Old German Shepherd Kennel

We breed Old German Shepherds (Altdeutsche Schäferhunde) in Liège, Belgium.

Our dogs are known for their straight backs, medium to long coats, and their exceptional adaptability, which makes them wonderful family companions.

Our females live as part of the family and share our daily life. They travel with us on holidays and trips, which allows them to learn a lot and then pass these experiences on to their puppies through play, imitation, and natural education.

Retired females stay within the family circle. We believe that a breeding program is like a small ecosystem where every dog has something unique to contribute.

The puppies are born in the house and grow up within the family home, becoming accustomed to everyday sounds, smells, and routines.

We watch them grow and thrive at home until around 4 weeks of age. At that point, they begin to explore the outdoors and meet the rest of the pack, discovering the world with confidence in a safe environment while staying close to their mother.

The puppies remain with their mother and the pack until 10 weeks of age, giving them time to learn essential canine social skills and benefit from the full richness of our breeding environment in terms of play, stimulation, and early education.

When they leave us, the puppies are microchipped, dewormed, and up to date on their vaccinations (with the booster due at 12 weeks). They go to their new families with their AFC pedigree, European passport, and a puppy starter kit filled with useful information to help build the best possible bond with their new companion.

The German Shepherd is a wonderful life companion when guided and educated properly. With time and dedication, he becomes the most loyal family dog, offering protection, companionship, and a unique partnership in everyday life.

Like all dogs, he needs training, physical activity, and structure. In return, he will become your children’s best friend, your home’s guardian, and your adventure partner.

Our German Shepherds are distinguished by their wide variety of coat colors, ranging from black to white, sable, bicolor, and many other shades.

When selecting breeding dogs, our priority is health and temperament. We do not focus on specific coat colors, preferring instead to let nature surprise us with beautiful combinations.

To ensure the best quality of life for our puppies and their future families, we only breed from dogs that are free of genetic diseases. All our breeding dogs are tested for numerous conditions, including the most well-known such as drug sensitivity, degenerative myelopathy, and hip dysplasia.
We also collaborate with other breeders and private owners who provide stud dogs. This allows us to diversify our lines while maintaining our high standards for health and behavior.

We offer puppies that are:
-
Raised in a family environment
-
Free from genetic diseases
-
Born from parents carefully selected for their health and temperament

We remain available for guidance and support after the puppies leave us and are always delighted to see them again when invited. We also organize reunions for puppies from the same litter, giving both dogs and owners the opportunity to share and connect.
